Hyderabad – Hussain Sagar, Necklace Road

Posted: December 20, 2008 in Vathsan's Voyage..!

I have had yet another visit to one of my favorite cities, Hyderabad. Nothing much is changed. Hyderabad is experiencing lesser traffic than most of the Southern Cities. But, nothing short of miserable events though! Mostly minor-driven share autos are crisscrossing the roads without caring neither passengers nor signals !! You have to be on your tows all the time ! Nevertheless, I have had a time of my life ….!

I have visited to prominent tourist attractions of the city.

Hussain Sagar:

The Lake is existed since 1562. Length of this beauty is 24 Kms. It takes care of water and irrigation needs of Hyderabad.  Monolithic statue of Buddha in the middle of the lake was erected in 1992.

Authorities are requested to maintain it better ! Public must co-operate too !

Necklace Road:

It is a popular road adjoining the Hussain Sagar lake, which connects NTR Gardens to Sanjeeviah Park. The stretch of the road appears in the form of a Necklace, and hence the name.

Buddha Jayanthi celebrations are also held here every year. There are innumerable vendors with puchkas, bhel and cool drinks. What else do you need?

Above all, Necklace Road provides lovers with an avenue to express themselves…!
